Modern Dental Focus

Metal-based dentistry (gold crowns, 'silver fillings,' etc.) was developed in the 1800s. Dr. Henley and his team feel a new direction is long overdue. Many people have benefited from advances in preventive dentistry; however, fewer people are aware of the advantages of esthetic/cosmetic dentistry.

There are substantial restorative benefits as well as the obvious visual ones. Improvements in technology, restorative materials, and artistic techniques in last few years have given patients more choices that can increase the health, function, and strength of teeth. Additionally, we can now achieve exceptional results in smile design.

Sedation Expertise

Dr. Henley has an intense interest in achieving high levels of comfort for his patients. In addition to the many non-medicative comfort amenities and technology the practice provides, patients are also given the option of receiving nitrous oxide (laughing gas) during treatment and patients are offered I.V. sedation, especially for more comprehensive restorative and esthetic cases or surgical care.

Early on in his dental career, Dr. Henley felt this more extensive training was necessary to treat patients properly. In 1991, Dr. Henley completed I.V. sedation training at the University of Southern California. He trained directly with Dr. Stanley Malamed an internationally renowned expert in local and I.V. sedation and emergency medicine. This safe, comfortable, effective sedation gives our patients peace of mind.

Esthetic Credentials

The esthetic results created by cosmetic dentistry are exciting. However, there are many issues that need resolution before esthetic and restorative treatments are begun. Dr. Henley's experience in diagnosing disease and achieving dental health, and understanding function and structure through his experience with orthodontia, and abilities and experience in oral surgery all encourage high-value, long-term results. Preventive care further encourages this success.
